Frans Stroeven is steadily becoming a household name in the World of the Filipino Martial Arts. Not only in his home country the Netherlands but all around the world is his name starting to get well known.
Stroeven has been practicing different styles of the Filipino Martial Arts for over 24 years. During these years he introduced Doce Pares Eskrima to Europe and established his name.
He has been training this specific style of Eskrima for 11 years and was the representative of Doce Pares Multi Style Eskrima headed by GM Dionisio "Diony" Cañete for Europe. While practicing Doce Pares, Stroeven more and more put his mark on the style, adapted and modernized it incorporating his own Martial Arts experience.
Stroeven has demonstrated his exceptional skills many times on the Islands of the Philippines. During the Master seminars 2004 in Cebu city he showed his skills not only to the Filipinos but to the whole world.
A demonstration in 2006 together with his wife Leonora Stroeven at the headquarters of Cacoy Doce Pares, Cebu city was even broadcasted on television in the Philippines.
Stroeven is currently the European President of Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima representing GM Ciriaco "Cacoy" Cañete.
By conducting seminars and educating new teachers Stroeven keeps on spreading the art of Doce Pares Eskrima throughout Europe. June 2007 a new teacher course will be starting in Italy.
